2012 Pinewood Derby Patch Design Contest

The design steps are as easy as …

Shape

Patches come in all shapes, and you can use any you desire. Some of the most common ones are circles, ovals, and rectangles. Size will be 3" Diameter, 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" Rectangular, 3 1/2" Oval.

Lettering

Include Pack 166 Pinewood Derby 2012on the front of your entry. Letters should be a minimum of 1/4 inch tall for clarity.

Color

Select contrasting colors to create a more beautiful patch. Light color lettering usually goes with dark color background and vice versa. 7 colors maximum.

Name

Write your name and Den number on the back of your entry.

TIPS

Keep it simple! A clean and simple design will be easier to make and better to see. Pick contrasting colors for back ground and lettering.

Official Rules:

The patch contest is open to any scout currently participating in Pack 166. One entry per scout.  Your art work is due on or before the November 15th pack meeting. Your design should include: your name, address and phone number, den number on the back of the entry so your art work can be returned. After the contest. All entries will be posted on the Pack 166 website and judged by you and your fellow scouts. The winner will be announced at the December Pack meeting. The winning design will be used to make the patch and will be printed on the cover of the Race day Program.
